Teeth Whitening?

I just got my braces off today, and i am about to go to the store, and i was wondering what the best over the counter teeth whitening product is...

any suggestions?

Teeth Whitening?
i have to tell you that i tried some of those and they ate away the enamel from some parts of my teeth. it hurt really bad and i had to get them drilled and filled. i just have to tell you that. i cant advise you to use them. the dentist told me when i came in with my hurting teeth that the whitening products were what caused it. i used the brush on and the strips.
Reply:Crest White Strips are probably the best but can be difficult to manage for some. You also have to be very consistent with their use over a period of several CONSECUTIVE weeks. You also want to avoid drinking dark liquids during the bleaching process (like soda, tea, juices, etc.). There is a newer product now competing with Crest White Strips that I hear has a better delivery system (easier to use) but I forget who makes it. The easiest (although a little more expensive) is to pay your dentist to bleach your teeth. Your dentist can use products with a much higher concentration of bleach and therefore the process is quicker and more successful.
Reply:WELL CONGRATULATIONS. YOU CAN TRY CREST WHITE STRIPES FOR ONE WEEK AND SEE IF YOUR TEETH DO NOT GET SENSITIVE. ALSO TRY USING LISTERINE MOUTH WASH BEFORE BRUSHING YOUR TEETH ALL THE TIME. IF YOU KNOW ANYONE WHO SELLS AVON, YOU CAN ALSO BUY THEIR TEETH WHITENING PRODUCT AND USE IT ONLY ON THE WEEKENDS. REMEMBER TO TRY TO STAY AWAY FROM COFFEE AND SODAS. IF YOU DO DRINK EITHER ONE USE A STRAW TO BEGIN WITH. EVENTUALLY YOU WILL BE ABLE TO DRINK ANYTHING ABOUT SIX MONTHS OR SO. GOD LUCK.
Reply:1) If you smoke you should stop it.

2) By chewing some kind of chewing gum, You would have white teeth.

3) Brush your teeth more and use well-known tooth-pastes which have whitening material and fluoride.

4) Stop eating artificially colored nourishment.

5) drink more water daily.
Reply:The cheapest toothpaste: ultrabrite. WOrks great
Reply:i got a special kit from my dentist.

The over the counter ones damages the enamel on some peoples teeth
Reply:I have used Crest Whitening Strips for years and am always happy with the results. I also use Crest Vivid White tooth paste after I finished with the whitening strips completely. This helps boost the color and even it out. You should also buy an electric tooth brush, this will help naturally whiten your teeth and keep them that way.

Good Luck!
Reply:Your best bet is a nice Oral B toothbrush and regular Colgate toothpaste!!!!
Reply:Go to general dentist first and have it cleaned There might be some excess cement from braces which is light to dark yellow stain. It might be the cement not your teeth. Over the counter whitening, wil only whiten the front teet, and not uniform.
Reply:The best thing to do is wait and see what kind of retainer you get. If it%26#039;s a clear plastic one that fits over the teeth just go to your dentist and see if they sell whitening products. If they don%26#039;t have to make the bleaching tray that fits over the teeth it%26#039;s just a matter of purchasing the product which can be about the same price as whitening strips but stronger. Just apply the product into your retainer at night. Works great! My kids did this and were so pleased.

Also, I always suggest to my patients to bleach only the upper teeth first. When you are bleaching both at the same time you won%26#039;t notice much difference. Bleaching one at a time allows you to compare and actually see that it%26#039;s working. Congrats on getting those braces off!
Reply:If your under the age of 25 crest white strips or the new otc whitening trays are a possibility. Al sways use sensodyne toothpaste while whitening to prevent sensitivity.

If you are over the age of twenty five you will need a tooth whitening product from your Dentist. I suggest Opalescence whitening kit it is the only one approved by the ADA.

Whitening products such as gums, toothpaste and mints do not have enough peroxide to successfully whiten your teeth they usually contain less than three percent. Crest strips have about 7 percent, and the dentists solution will be between 20-thirty percent. The Zoom whitening is a joke do not bother with that. As with all whitening products the results depend on your ablity to fallow through with the directions.

Tips to keep your teeth white-

-Have your teeth cleaned twice a year professionally

-always use a straw(especially with sodas and juices)

-Brush and floss regularly

-Do not smoke

-Limit red wine and coffee

Good luck!
